'CLASS A' MODERN LOFT OFFICE SPACES IN GRAND RAPIDS
37 Ottawa Ave NW
Grand Rapids, MI 49503
Some buildings earn their character. At 37 Ottawa, the exposed brick and heavy timber beams date to the 1880s, when the Grand Rapids Refrigerator Company built the structure.
The mid-1980s were not kind to it. An aluminum skin wrapped the exterior, covering 37 Ottawa and its neighbor, 50 Monroe, and erasing more than a century of architectural detail. CWD acquired both properties in 2012 and spent years reversing the damage, uncovering what the renovation buried and pairing it with the mechanical and technology infrastructure a modern tenant expects.
The result: exposed brick, heavy timber beams, high ceilings, and windows scaled to an era that built things to last. Bones that can't be designed in. All of it original, all of it intact.
37 Ottawa and 50 Monroe, now the AC Hotel by Marriott, stand as CWD's most ambitious restoration projects to date. The location handles itself. Downtown Grand Rapids is at your door.
